Dermatology in Clinical Practice Courses Online

Diploma MSc is an award-winning provider of online medical education for Postgraduate Diploma and Masters courses. We are now pleased to add Postgraduate Diploma and Masters courses in Dermatology to our expanding range of courses. Our online dermatology courses are offered in conjunction with our partner, the University of South Wales, who have developed a strong reputation for delivering innovative learning.

Dermatology is an increasingly popular clinical entity amongst medical trainees and nurses within the UK and also internationally. This is particularly so in primary care where skin disease is the greatest disease prompting consultation in children and the second biggest problem amongst adults. For instance, in the U.K. approximately 15% of GP consultations are due to dermatology related conditions. In consequence, the British Association of Dermatology advocate within their Standards Document that all healthcare generalists managing skin conditions must have suitable training in dermatology and should be supported in this training by employers and commissioners.

The number of potential dermatological diagnoses has been estimated at 3000 and each can present in several ways. Although a substantial number of these cases involve chronic disease, many can be treated or cured. This means increasing your knowledge in dermatology through online dermatology courses can add significant value to your patients, especially given the social stigmas surrounding skin disease.

Our courses in dermatology:

  • are designed to facilitate a better understanding of skin disorders which are common in the community.
  • enable you to upskill in the diagnostic and management of dermatological disorders.
  • are designed to improve your knowledge which is an essential complement to clinical practice.
  • ensure you are better equipped to undertake teledermatology, an increasingly important element of practice.

Applicants taking our courses in dermatology will typically be health professionals such as GPs, doctors, nurses, physicians and pharmacists. For healthcare professionals who successfully complete a qualification, career progression would likely be facilitated, as well as the direct opportunity to improve patient care.

Students may apply for the MSc in Dermatology as a two-year course, firstly completing the Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits), followed by the MSc (60 credits).
